Not sure what to say?

Bob was not only a great boss and a caring person but also he was a friend and mentor also. The times we spent together in the old 6th District will be cherished forever. Thank You and God Speed!

Bob was a real gentleman, one of the good guys that was highly respected on the job. He was from the old school.

To Bobby and family,
I first met your dad when Bobby was on the 6 year old t-ball team in Wrightwood Baseball. Met him again when he was an investigator at the CCDOC. He helped my son Geoff with employment. Now he works in the Training Academy for the CPD. Always a kind and jovial man. Your family, relatives, friends and community will miss him much. Peace be to his memory.

As a young man growing up in the early 70's I remember Lt. Goldsmith very well from his days as a youth officer at Little Flower High School and around 79th and Wood. He was a fine man who I may have crossed a time or two but one who I knew I could turn to in any time of trouble. I was privileged to have run into him by chance nearly 20 years later and we shared some memories that made us both laugh out loud. Safe Home, my good man!

"Uncle Bob" was my part time fill in father. Patty, Michael, Frannie, Lori and Linda were my second family. (Followed by Bobby after I moved). Your dad will be terribly missed, but I keep his memory in my heart.

I was very sorry to hear that Bob had passed away. I am sure he is in a better place. We had a lot of fun togeather when he was our boss in the oo6th District. Bob was a good boss, a good friend and a great guy.

To Michael Goldsmith and Family
When I began my career with the Chicago Police Department as a young policewoman I was fortunate to have your father as one of my suprvisors. There weren't many women on the CPD at that time and he always treated "the girls" with great kindness and respect. He was a great boss, a good teacher and fair and honest with everyone. Please accept my sympathy and know that through the years I always had good memories of your father. I learned a lot from...

Dear Michael & family,
Was just talking about your dad with a retired chief a few weeks ago.
Mention was made about him being one of the "Good Guy's".
I always enjoyed our talks when I was assigned to the I.G.'s Office. We always shared a good laugh.
God bless you all.

Lt. Wayne Wieczorek CCSPD (Ret)
