Robert Carlisle Goodlett, 87, passed away September 24, 2023 at his home in Anderson County. He was born in Taylorsville, KY on November 13, 1935 the son of Alec and Florence Carlisle Goodlett.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eunice Seay Goodlett, and nine siblings, Aliene Stump (DR), Geneva Ingram (Roy V.), Thomas Goodlett (Isabel), Harold Goodlett (Dottie), Everette Goodlett, Edna Goodlett, Kenneth Goodlett (Lucille), Olivia Martin (Zeb), and Katherine Kelin (Woodrow).
Robert worked as a meat processor at the former Goodlett’s Grocery in Taylorsville, Edward’s Sausage in Lawrenceburg, and retired from Armor Packing in Louisville. He and his late wife were members of the Alton Christian Church.
He is survived by his six children, Dr. Robert W. Goodlett (Sherry) of Mackville, Bro. Darrell R. Goodlett (Vicki Jo) of Bardstown, Rhonda Cotton (Noal), Rebecca Brooks (Rob Colt), Dana Goodlett (Robin), and Luetta Hale (Rogie), all of Lawrenceburg; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Marietta Coulter (Perry) of Taylorsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at Alton Christian Church, 1686 Old Frankfort Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY. Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. and Lex Goodlett will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday, all at Alton Christian Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Brooks, Shane Goodlett, Zachary Cotton, Daniel Goodlett, Noah Goodlett, AJ Goodlett, Austin Hale, Charlie Hale, and Jeff Huang. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Jessica Mendel, Staci Spaulding, Bethany Goodlett, Rachel Barnett, and Allison Lawson.
Memorials in memory of Robert C. Goodlett are suggested to the Alton Christian Church, 1686 Old Frankfort Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
