CLINTON

Robert W. Grady, 92, formerly of Nelson St., Clinton, and Hall Ave., Sterling, died Monday, December 12, 2011, in Oakdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Boylston, after an illness. His wife of 47 years, Dorothy A. (Pratt) Grady, died in 1989.

He leaves two sons, E. Russell Grady and his wife, Dorothy, with whom he lived, and Gary F. Grady, all of Clinton; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews; and close family friends, James & Brian Camara, both of Clinton. He was predeceased by his son, Robert W. Grady, Jr., who died in 2005, and an infant daughter, Amy Marie Grady, who died in 1941. Three siblings, Ruth Hanney, Irene Kelley & James Grady, and his dear friend & companion, Jean Heighton, also predeceased him.

Bob was born in Dorchester and raised in Clinton, the son of William H. and Helen A. (O'Toole) Grady. He was a graduate of Clinton High School.

For 32 years, Bob worked as an electrician at Wyman-Gordon Corp., North Grafton, retiring in 1984.

He was a life member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and a former member of the "Burdett Hill Celtics" Softball Team. For 15 years, he served on the Board of Health for the Town of Clinton, and was the proud recipient of the Clinton Leprechaun Society's Schillelagh Award. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming and sailing at his home on Lake Wauschacum.

Bob's Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December, 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Bob to: Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, (D.B.A.) c/o Dawn Baumgardner, 20 Tracey Lynn Lane, W. Seneca, NY 14224. The McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., is directing arrangements.
