Robert Neal Grimes, Sr.
Robert Neal Grimes, Sr., 72 years old, born and raised in Blythe, California, was a fun-loving friend who treated everyone like family, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Robert, a.k.a. Pappy, was known for his love and dedication to his family, boating, off roading, dancing, making new friends everywhere he went and his enthusiasm for always making it the Best Day Ever.
Answering the call to serve his country, Sergeant Robert Grimes, Sr. served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 in Vietnam.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Tina Grimes; his daughter Carolyn Grimes (Mike); his son Robert Grimes, Jr. (Juliana); his son Michael Grimes (Dawn); daughter Stephanie Saenz (Jeff); daughter Rana Hammontree (Timmy); daughter Amanda Burt (Sean); many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Grimes (Linda), Don Grimes (Kelly); his sisters, Shirley Hedman (Gordie); and Bonnie Grimes-Peoples (James). Uncle Bob also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Neal and Mary Helen Grimes, and sister Linda Franklin and husband Billy.
Robert will always be remembered for his generous nature; party anthems; hard work throughout his life; love of the Dallas Cowboys and Nascar #2 driver, Brad Keselowski; meticulous lawncare; his endless pride in his family’s accomplishments; and the overwhelming number of people who hold a place for him in their hearts.
A Celebration of his legendary life is being hosted by his cherished wife, Tina Grimes, at 1475 Riviera Drive, Blythe, California 92225 on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 4:00 pm.
