Col Robert Hall was my commanding office in Korea when I was battalion surgeon for the Second Battalion, 23rd Regiment, 2ID in 1951. I always thought he was an exemplary officer and a good doctor.

Years later, when we met at a 2ID reunion, he greeted me by name which shows what a really great guy he was considering that I was only one of many serving under him.

The US Army and the men he commanded were fortunate to have had his presence.

As a Korean War Veteran of Medical Company, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3nd Batallion , Love Company, 2nd platoon Medic, I did not meet Col Hall until after the war was over , but he was a man amomg men inspired by all who served under him, and everyone that knew him felt he was special.
He had a cause he persued for years to right the wrong that was contained in a book about the medical care at the Battle of Chipyong-ni. It claimed that there was very little medical care in the Collecting...

We'll miss him. He was a unique individual who left his goodness on all that he touched bringing a smile to your face. Our thoughts are with Aunt Jane and the rest of the family.

We are good friends of Betsy and her family. After reading her dad's obituary we now know where she gets her goodness from. Col. Hall was obviously a wonderful person and great American. We regret not knowing him personally, and extend our sincere heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends.

I didn't know Co Hall but I would like to gives thanks for his outstanding service to our Country. He had to have been a great American.

Col. Hall was indeed a great man. His passion for doing the right thing, his devotion helping others, his tough-mindedness, and his fundamental humanity are things that I will never forget. We will not see his like again.
