It's been many years. I was just doodling around with Google today when I ran across the notice of Robert's death. I don't know whether or not you are checking this guest book so perhaps you won't see this. In any event, I send you my most heartfelt condolences. Chuck died in September so I think perhaps I know something about what you are experiencing. It's hard learning to live alone after so many years. I'm sorry we lost touch through the years, but I think of you...

You don't know me, but Bob was my group manager when I was an operator in New Haven in 1987. I have very fond memories of him. He was always so kind. I asked him if he could pull some strings so that I could be in his group. He did. I will always remember how he had a rose for each of "his operators" for Christmas. He truly was one of the best bosses I ever had. I am very sorry for your loss, and hope that knowing how much he meant to others can in some small way help you get through...
