Not sure what to say?

For Mr. Hamm´s loved ones, I had the chance of having Mr. Hamm as a teacher for one of my English classes. I was rather rowdy. Skipping classes and getting into fights at the upper senior parking lot at West Linn High were a common occurrence. For some reason, Mr. Hamm took me under his wing. He didn´t teach that many classes those days and told me if I ever felt like getting into trouble that I could go to his office instead, for a cup of coffee. Well, I took advantage of that invitation...

I never knew Mr. Hamm, but it seems very likely that I now own something which once belonged to him. And having read all the comments here, it seems like this might be a story which might make him smile. I, too, have three daughters: Katy, Annie, and Loey. A couple of weeks ago we all flew (or drove in my case) from four other states to Portland to spend a few days with their brother, who is a permanent Oregon resident (as we all once were.) One day we went "thrifting" at Red, White, and...

I think of Bob often. He was a man of integrity, shared a joyful laugh, and inspired those who knew him. It was an honor to have worked with Bob. Always with a smile to greet you, he garnered a sense of humor that brightened our world. What would he think of our world today? I loved that he was an activist and held firm to his beliefs. You may have left this plane, Bob, but you will never leave our hearts. Thank you for the gift of your friendship and wisdom. Your incredible wife and...

Paula, Prayers go your way on this anniversary of Bob's death. Much love and prayer, Frances

As a former mentor Bob remains close in my heart and always will. His spirit and humor abounds each and every day - He would be so very proud of his amazing children and loving wife. He inspired us by his honesty and "tell it like it is" approach to life. We had some great political conversations and I can only imagine what those conversations would be like today. A great man with a great legacy.

Lots of love to you, Paula!
Frances Winksnjm

I want to continue to hold Paula, his wife in my thoughts, heart, and prayers.

Bob was a man of integrity--a quality hard to find in a person in today's society. Bob was a good neighbor and friend. He was a kind, gentle, and compassionate man. He loved teaching and enjoyed interacting with his students. Just knowing Katie, Carrie, and Jackie, you know Bob was a great father. He was a historian and an environmentalist. Bob made this world a better place because he was an example of how one should live their life.

Bob and I spent a wonderful Summer taking students to Europe. He was a great guy and my greatest regret is we haven't seen each other in such a long time. Please know that my thoughts are with the family. I am indeed sorry for his loss.
