After reading his RED RIVER, I was pleased to locate Robert and talk of the early logging railroads in Minnesota. I was elated when he wrote a few words on the cover of my book, THE EDGE OF ITASCA. I sent him one of the first copies in July of this year. I was about to send a Christmas card, when I read of his passing. I only wish I had been able to meet him in earlier days.
