Not sure what to say?

Bob was my music teacher when I was a student at Carl Sandburg Jr High in the mid-60s and I bumped into him a few years later when I was a teacher at Palatine Hills/Sundling Jr High.

What I remember the most about him was his passion for music and teaching. He was a gentleman.

May his familys memories of Bob be a blessing.

I took Mr. Hannenberg's Rock 1 class in 8th grade at Winston Park Jr. High in 1985. It opened an undiscovered world to me which has inspired me throughout my adult life. I wanted to tell Mr. Hannenberg how much I appreciated the class, but on the last day refrained out of shyness. After thinking about it for years I searched the web for him, only to find this obit. So thank you Mr. Hannenberg for affecting my life in a positive way.

My last memory of you, Bob, will always stay with me: "Lore-e-en!!!!!!!!!!!" you screamed, "who is playing violin? it was Masha, who I asked to play for you. "Of course!", she said.
I thought it was so amazing!!!!!! That you still enjoyed tlistening to the music! Next time I was in your house, you weren't in it, but I practiced my Haydn concerto thinking "grandpa would probably enjoy this very much..." I wished you'd been there.... When I attended your funeral, I couldn't help it not to...

I'm very saddened to loose my cousin Bobby. My earliest recollection of him was when I was five years old and my family's home caught on fire. My little sister and I were sent off to stay at different relative's homes while our house was being repaired. When I stayed at my Aunt Dorothy's home I remember ,to this day, how sad I was because I missed my Mom and our home.
Aunt Dorothy's son was Bobby, at that time he was about eighteen years old. I'm...

Dear Carl, Loren, and Family, I was very saddened to hear of your father's death. He was a brilliant musician, a remarkable teacher and a wonderful human being. Our schools and community were better places because of his contributions. Bob Hannenberg was one of the nicest men that I ever met in my life. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Wish I might have know you better but the few times we visited I greatly enjoyed your alert awareness and consideration. I will enjoy your son's as friends. Mark Rover

May your memories bring you joy and peace. Your father was my grade school music teacher for many years. I also took private piano lessons from him in his home. Because of him, not only do I have an appreciation for music, but I was able to pass the joy of music to my three sons. Mr Hannenberg touched many lives.

My deepest condolences on your loss. I have fond memories of music class and guitar lessons with your father. He was a generous, kind-hearted, gentle, and brillant music-lover. I am a teacher now, and am grateful to have experienced his style.

May your memories bring you great comfort and peace--he touched many lives.
