Robert Hans

My most vivid and happy memory of Young Bob was when he pulled his new convertible into his parents' driveway. He was nice enough to give a couple of little kids in the neighborhood, including me, a ride around the block in his new ride. My heart goes out to his family for their loss.

We are very grateful for the life of Coach Hans. As the Head Coach, he surrounded himself with quality assistants like himself who influenced the lives of boys and girls to achieve their goals. His teams always excelled in academics as well as athletics and many went on to college as a result of his staff's guidance. He was more than a coach, he was a mentor and role model. Coach Hans invited me to run on his team many times, which I ignored for years. Finally I gave in to what would be the most important and formative part of my adolescence. Coach Hans provided the structure and opportunity to develop my values, friendships and goals that put me where I am today. I believe that Coach Hans had a tealent for seeking to understand each one of us and guiding us to be our best.
