When I was a child my Uncle Bob and family would come back to the U.S. every 5 years to be on temporary furlough from their mission work in Japan. They would always bring back cultural items and food from Japan to share with us. It was such a fascinating and interesting insight into this faraway world where they were living. Some years much later when he happened to be traveling through Denver where I am living, he would often stop so we could visit. I always felt like I could talk to him...

Bob was my hero, from our earliest days growing up together just one year apart in school in Russellville, Ky. His quiet and unassuming nature was a model to follow, but the depth of his faith to his Lord and Savior at an early age set the bar high for those of us growing up together. As he matured in his faith and commitment to his Lord, he lived the life of Philippians 2:3. I love you, Brother
