Not sure what to say?

Bob had such great sense of humor . At my retirement party , he spoke and was hilarious .His dedication to our students was way beyond expectation . He was a great friend and a wonderful human being .

Bob and I were roommates at U of Chicago in 1954-55, the last year he was there. He got me involved in his bowling league. He also organized a birthday treat for me: a $1.95 ice cream sundae that took forever to eat. There are many great memories; he was an excellent roommate. We went our separate ways, only crossing paths once more -- at a reunion in ~2000. I send my condolences to his family. Please know that I will treasure those memories of that year with Bob.

To friends and family of Robert Healivin,

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I have been searching for him.....to thank him and let him know how, his wisdom, his words and his counseling, was a gift to my life.
Dr. Bob changed my life for the better, the years we spent talking healed me.
I will remember his smile, his laugh, and his words. He will live on in my mind and in heart forever.
He was one of...

To Mary and Family : On returning from FL I found that I have lost a dear friend and respected colleague in the passing away of Bob . Working with Bob for almost thirty years was such a joy. His devotion to his students and his warm personality is something I would always remember . Our deepest sympathy . Rama Chaturvedi

To Mary and the Calvert/Heavilin Families
Our deepest sympathy to all of you for the loss of a very gentle, wise, and compassionate man. Through the years and our friendship with Bob and Mary, they both became part of our family's history, providing child care, attending many family celebrations, and of course hiking in the White Mountains. This photograph is from one of the White Mountain trips that Bob went on with Neil and Josh. It is that glowing smile we'll remember most.

To Chuck and the Heavilin Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to each of you.

I was moved to see the comment in Bob's obituary, "intoducing generations of the family to the White Mountains." Although I am not a family member, my son and I had the pleasure of hiking in the White Mountains with Bob, Chuck, Laura, Doug, and Cal in July of 1993. Bob was kind and thoughtful and it was obvious to us, he truly loved his family, nature, and the beauty of the...

To the Heavilin Family,

My deepest condolences to each of you. One of the things that amazed me most about Bob was his zeal for the little things in life. Whether he was running off to class, meeting with a client or squeezing in a run around Coventry, he loved his life.

When he planned a special visit to the Cape, had tickets to a Yankee game with Laura, went to see Mama Mia, drove to a weekly shopping trip with Michael or a babysitting assist, Bob loved his life,...

Bob and I were in graduate school at UConn together and I remember being touched by his intelligence and kind and compassionate spirit. The world has lost a fine man. My sympathy to Bob's family.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to the Heavlin family. Dr. Bob will always be remembered as an inspiring and well liked individual. May he rest in peace.
