Not sure what to say?

Joan, So sorry for your loss. We lived across the street from Bob and Joan for 7 years and what a joy it was having them as neighbors. My parents lived out of town but Bob and Joan filled in and were so wonderful to my kids Emilee and Molly. After we moved away they were so special to us that we would sing Christmas carols every year at there house until the last couple of years. Bob made all of the kids feel special and was always so much fun to be around. We are so lucky to have known...

I had heard the sad news of Coach Hendrickson passing away in early Jan. He will surely be missed by us all. The last time we spoke was shortly after my mom passed away and I stopped by the house to see Coach and Mrs H. It was a good "comfort stop" for me. I´m guessing Coach and Mrs. H provided that for a lot of folks. I remember Coach from my first grade year on. Between rabbit hunting with Ringo and going to a bazillion basketball games, and hanging out at your house, we spent a lot of time...

Bob, (Mr.) Hendrickson left a lasting impression on me as a caring person and educator. My first recollection of him was as a coach for the Mulick Park softball team. His team trounced our Oakdale team so bad I thought this is a guy who really knows how to coach. (Had to be 1957 or 58?) Later, Bob was our 9th grade football coach...probably 1962. I last saw him at our 25th high school reunion in 1990. Even though I don't remember ever having had him as a teacher, he was the one educator...

I remember Bob from way back when he was our playground leader at Mulick Park. He lived a life of integrity and service. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was my 10th grade basketball coach at Ottawa. Teaching in the Grand Rapids system myself, I was able to stay in contact with Bob. A super guy who always had a big smile on his face! He'd go out of his way to say hi to you. A good man. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the Hendrickson family. Coach, the memories of you will be embedded in my mind and in my heart forever. As a you man being hospitalized and going through a very time, you and your family were there for me. A moment that outweighs all of the basketball and classroom memories that I will ever have. Thank you for your drive, your determination, your patience and your belief in me. You will truly be missed. Sincerely Spencer Bondon Classroom of "75" City Champs

Saddened to hear of your loss.Prayers of comfort for the family.

I was very fortunate to work with Bob for years at Ottawa Hills. I admired him for his integrity. He did what he thought was the right thing, which often wasn't the easiest choice to make. He was a wonderful person. The family has my sincere condolences.

Bob and Joan are the pillars of our neighborhood. Bob will be missed by all who knew him. A great man.
