My heart is saddened to learn that Bob has passed away. Bob Hesse was a very dear friend and colleague. His extraordinary, creative, visionary leadership at UNICEF resulted in millions of dollars and significant awareness being raised for the world's most vulnerable children.

It was Bob's genius that created the Audrey Hepburn/Michael Tilson Thomas New World Symphony event that toured the United States benefiting UNICEF programs worldwide.

Bobs wisdom, generosity and impact on the arts was profound. I will always be grateful for his advice and guidance. He will be very missed and my deepest condolences to his family.
