We are so sad to read about your father’s passing! I have such fond memories of the two of you sitting in your office at A G Edwards’s. No words were spoken but I could feel the mutual love and respect for each other! We hope your wonderful memories of your dad will ease the pain soon.

I remember when Dr. Hines first came to the Minerva Clinic. He had a quick wit and a wonderfully bright and sunny way about him. He was truly one of those people who make such a positive impression that you never forget them.

Doc, was my physician from Birth till I left town. He was a True 'care taker of mankind. So generous with his time.

I've known Bob Hines my entire life, and he's one of the greatest guys I ever knew. A wonderful man, filled with humor, kindness, and a huge heart. I have a memory of him teaching me how to bet on horses that is one of my favorite moments from my childhood. We will all miss you, Hinzie! Sincerely, Perry King

Our prayers and thoughts to his family. Doc was one of a kind. He was so quick with the shot, sitting waiting for it and you already had it. It made him laugh. He took care of all our families. We could depend on him to be there. So glad to call him Doc and better yet to call him friend.

Dr. Hines was a good friend of my parents. Although my dad passed away years ago, Dr. Hines took time to periodically check in on my mom and brother over the years. It was a nice surprise to see him getting out of his car and walking up the driveway. He didnt stay long, but it was long enough that we knew he cared. My brother is in a wheelchair and quadriplegic. Dr. Hines made it a point to talk directly to my brother and make sure he was okay. God speed Dr. Hines! RIP.

He was my doctor when I was a child. He was wonderful! He truly cared about his patients. Rest in Peace, Dr. Hines.

Doc will be greatly missed at Bender's Tavern. I remember when I was a young Bartender and Doc would walk-in and hand us a tip before he even ordered anything! My father Jerry Jacob will miss the talks about Morel Mushrooms and how the season was going. He was one of Bender's most loyal customers and our staff and especially Mary Roman enjoyed taking care of the Hines family. Our deepest sympathy's go out to everyone that Doc touched during his great life. We will certainly miss him in...

Had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hines a couple of times at VA Tech football games! He was in Blacksburg visiting his daughter Dixie and son-in-law, Glenn. I know he must have been a jewel! It is said, The apple doesnt fall far from the tree....Dixie has been wonderful to travel with us to developing countries to give of herself selflessly to those less fortunate! Always fun and rewarding to travel with her. I know Dixie was very close to her dad, who I am confident Dr. Hines also had a...
