Not sure what to say?

Another anniversary pass since Bob is not with us..., but I think and remember him very often in small details, in small things ...and it feels he is with me in some sort if a way. Especially we I look at the pictures of him! Lots of love!

Single Memorial Tree

It is an unreplaceable loss for his family, for me personally, for all his friends, students, his former tennis players, for so many people! Bob was my recruiter and my tennis coach at Beloit. He opened a door to a new life for me in US and changed my life forever! I will carry my warmest memories and my deepest appreciation for my coach (and dearest friend) Bob throughout my entire life.

A memorial reception will be held at Beloit College on 28 May, at 11 a.m. Central. Please see the College's webpage for details and to RSVP.

I'm very sorry to hear of Dr. Hodge's death. I was a student of his at Beloit College. He was a fantastic teacher and an even better person. His cheerful personality and care for students is something I will always remember. Jimmy Grant '96

Bob was a year ahead of me at Ottawa Hills and was my neighbor virtually from our births. We played played tennis at Ottawa as well as spending time at each other´s homes as we grew up. I did not know him as an adult really but it sounds as tho he was a terrific person. Bruce Klassen

Our deepest sympathy to the family. Bob was such a wonderful person and a joy to know. We will certainly miss him. Rest in Peace, Bob.

I was a classmate of Bob's at OHHS and always have remembered him as such a great and fun guy. We called him Haji Baba...for fun. I think that came from a popular song of that time. Had a great conversation with him at one of the few reunions I was able to attend. My sympathy to all of his family....I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

Bob was quite simply among the finest men I have ever known. An excellent, inspiring teacher. A man of remarkable good cheer and, in the end, an integral part of the fabric of Beloit College for a half-century. I am fortunate, indeed, to have been his student and to have earned his praise in class. Dave Mc Donald, Beloit '86
