Not sure what to say?

Still think about "Boeuf"! (Our French class' nickname for "Mr. Hoefler" as we knew him then). Thanks for making French fun. Miss ya.

I went to gade school and high school with father Bob Hoefler. Father Bob and I played many times in his dad hay mow on his farm wich was several miles from my dad's place. Had many, many memories.

Father Bob was a great priest. He will be missed.

I was a member of the Indianola HS class of '81, in Fr. Bob's last French class. He was one of only 2 teachers of mine who I classify as role models, in that both sought a calling other than education after spending many years doing it so well. Fr. Bob's calling was the highest, and it warms my heart to know how he followed his, and was able to be so much to so many. Your memory is for a blessing.

Fr. Bob was one of the best confessors I ever knew. He was a priest after God's own heart. Humble, gentle, loving, and very practical. His sermons were always full of wisdom and instruction! I just know that our Blessed Mother carried him in her arms up to Heaven!

May your gentle soul rest in eternal peace, Father Bob! Our world down here is a lot less bright with you gone! Please pray for all of us!

Father Bob had such a huge impact on my sons and me when at St. Theresa's. I credit Father Bob for getting us through a tough time in our lives and for the relationships he had with my sons. While sad at our loss, I'm sure he's singing and playing the piano in Heaven. God Bless Father Bob.

How many high school teachers does one continue to remember after 35 years? Mr. Hoefler was a "Father" to his students at IHS even before he was ordained. As a student in his French classes and a beginning debater, Bob did much to make sure his students had the skills to succeed. Mr. Hoefler also shared his passion for ragtime with me when we went down to Sedalia, MO, for the ragtime festival in 1975. As he related in an e-mail to me in June, "there can be few things that mean more in life...

Fr Bob was a great asset to St Theresa. I always got so much out of his point of view.

Father Bob was such an asset to the parish and the school. He taught the students so many things about Christ's life. He will be so missed. I know perpetual light will shine on him.
