Not sure what to say?

The Hoekelman's,

I was given the opportunity and privilege to work for Dr. Hoekelman in 1981-82ish in Pediatric Administration, when he was Associate Dean to Dr. David Smith.

Dr. Hoekelman was a very kind man and always with a smile to share. .....and knew the power of a cat nap on his office floor to give him a boost to continue on!

In thought and prayer and with Sympathy & Condolences to his loved ones. Judy Heagney-O'Hara

Offering my condolences to Dr. Hoekelman's family. I knew him as a talented and amazing pediatrician, often ahead of his time.
Karen Olness MD, FAAP

My deepest sympathies to the Hoekelman family.
Cliffside Park gave the world two men of ability, character, and warmth. We remember our families get-togethers well from our childhood.
With heartfelt condolences from Tekla and Christy Harms

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dr.Hoekelman.I would like to say thank you for sharing such a great doctor with the world.He was my doctor when I was a young child. I was very ill as a child and my mother talked very fondly of him. I am doing well today because of the work he did so long ago.Once again my deepest sympathy and God Bless. Sincerly a Patient from many years ago.

My condolences to Gretchen and families for the loss of Doc Hokelman. He was a kind,gentle man .

Gretchen, Kathy, Jane and Sally and families,

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will remember your Dad as such a wonderful "Canandaigua" guy, who truly loved this community and did so much for it...and also as the guy who made me wear those terrible red shoes for my curvature, BUT...they worked! I will remember him fondly and as the treasure that he was. May your wonderful memories sustain you in the days ahead. It was wonderful that your were able to all be together! Love...

My sympathy to all the family. Dr. Hoekelman was my hero growing up. I was very ill as a child and his gentleness and reassurance got me through some very frightening times. As I became an adult, I always remembered my hero. He was the reason I pursued a career in the medical field as a way to pay back for all he did for me. All my love and respect to this very gentle and kind man. Hang on to the memories

Dear Hoekelman Girls;
My sympathy to all of you as you deal with the loss of your Dad. My Mom was an FFTH ER nurse for years and she always described him as "brilliant." He was a tremendous asset to our community, as well as the medical field. He lived a wonderful life and was respected by all. Your Mother and Dad blessed us all with the four of you. I will think of him driving us all home from your birthday parties in his red convertible, top down- just enjoying a great moment. Take care...
