Not sure what to say?

I studied Spanish with Senor Hopkins at PVHS in the early 70´s. He is one of few teachers I remember with such fondness for his humor, brilliance, kindness and Grace. Beautiful Soul!

Mr Hopkins was my favorite teacher at Palo Verde HS in the 1960s. He had an obvious love for the Spanish language, respected all of us nutty students, and inspired us to work. It was my great pleasure to get to connect with him years later, and his obvious passion for his projects in retirement has inspired me to try to achieve the same passion in my retirement. I was blessed and honored to know him.

Elena, Billy and family, So sorry for your loss. Your Dad and Grandfather sounds like he was a great man. Blessings to you and your Mom. Karen

Lou was admired by his fellow coaches in the high school basketball community. A man of strong personal values, Lou conducted himself in a highly professional manner. A man of his stature will be missed.

Mr. Hopkins was a tremendous influence on my life. He was my Spanish teacher at Palo Verde. I learned to love basketball because of him. I became a Spanish teacher and a basketball coach at a community college in California largely because of Mr. Hopkins...he was the best, an excellent teacher and a very decent man. My sincere condolences to his family.

Señor Hopkins was my Spanish 3 teacher at PVHS in 1967-68. His love of the language was evident as he even "thought" in Spanish. Each day, we were required to greet him in Spanish as he stood at the door, and he would engage us in a brief conversation. As a musician, I appreciated his introduction of several popular Spanish language songs we would actually sing in class. He was incredibly gifted, and has always remained vivid in my educational memory.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

"Senor" Hopkins was a wonderful teacher at Palo Verde HS. My brother and I were in his Spanish class together in the early 60's. "Hang on Sloopy" was a popular song at the time and Senor Hopkins allowed us to sing a Spanish version we called "Hang on Pensativa" for an assignment. It continues to be a wonderful memory for us. Our condolences to his family.
