Not sure what to say?

I was a nursing student when Bob was doing his Residency at Carraway. We became fast friends. He went coon hunting with my Dad. He looked out for me because I was a dumb kid from the country. I will always remember him as one of a kind and gentle human. I reconnected with him years later, and he did a surgical repair of a Duptryans contracture of my hand. He did a perfect repair. I still think of him often Merle Camp

I found Dr. Howe's obituary while trying to remember his first name. He repaired my hand back in 1998 after a serious saw accident. I loved his demeanor and wit. Thankful for his abilities.

Saddens me to find out about the passing of Dr Howe. He operated on my left hand 4 times. in 2000 to repair it, after a serious work accident. My wife and I thought highly of him

Remember him fondly a when I was a resident at Carraway 1969-1970. He was as described warm, caring, and funny while being an excellent surgeon and teacher. Blessings to his family and all those close to him.

Sheila, so sorry for the loss of Bob. I will keep you in my prayers for peace in the days ahead. I wish we could have spent more time together. My family will always cherish the family picture Bob made for us.

A young surgeon, just out of fellowship, could not have asked for a better partner, mentor and friend. He never hesitated to share his wisdom or expertise, when requested, regardless of the hour. When I needed help of any kind, he was always available and never critical. For over eight years we shared coverage of a level one trauma center and experienced cases that were beyond belief and too numerous to count. He encountered and managed the trivial and the impossible with the same...

To Bob's brother Mike - So very sorry to read Bog's obit today - brought back many memories of him and you, Central Church of Christ, your Mother, and that Boxer dog our Cocker hated!

A sincerely great man, surgeon, mentor, and life coach. Thank you for guiding me to my career during a particularly difficult time. The best advice EVER came during that ride to the Blount County Vocational Tech Center to pick up.... a Corvette.
My thoughts and prayers are with Sheila (who kept a lot of Carraway Surgery Residents out of trouble on a regular basis) and the other family members. Rest in Peace, my friend- you certainly deserve it.
