HOY, Robert "Terry"., In loving memory of Robert "Terry" Hoy.

Born in Baltimore, Md., resided in Mathews County on Gwynn's Island. He was a graduate of Benedictine College Preparatory and Virginia Commonwealth University, both in Richmond, Va.

Terry is survived by the love of his life, Susan (Sue); stepchildren, Ryan (Kristen), Taylor Anne; and a beautiful granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane. Terry was an amazing, loving father and husband. Other survivors include stepchildren, Danny (Carolyn) and Michael (Mariah); two grandchildren, Allyssa and Sean. Terry is also survived by three brothers, Bobby (Linda), Larry (Jeanne), Tom (Carol); and his sister, Anita (Fred); along with several nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Terry was a lifelong outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and fixing just about everything. Terry, with Sue, enjoyed sailing, boating and cruising the Chesapeake Bay. Terry started his own landscaping/lawn care business, which evolved into a successful excavation business.

After suffering some health issues nine years ago, he pursued restoring their boat, "SuSeaQ", building custom fishing rods and repairing fishing rods and reels for many around the Chesapeake Bay. Terry donated most of the proceeds to the Mobjack Rowing Association and volunteered many hours of his time while his daughter, Taylor, participated on the rowing team.

Terry's quick laugh, off-hand jokes and constant smile will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors. A Celebration of Life will be planned for late spring or summer 2021.

Not sure what to say?

We are so sorry and saddened to hear of Terry´s passing. Stan actually tried to call Terry about 3 weeks ago just to catch up. Stan used to call Terry "Hoyster". We are thinking of you all and hoping to make it to his celebration of life.

Sue, I heard about Terry and wanted you to know that I am very sorry. My understanding is you all had a great life together. Keep the memories alive.

To all of Terry's family, I wish to extend my deepest condolences. I have so many happy memories of our time growing up together. I wonder just how many games of darts we played at the Hoy home in Richmond. We had many memorable adventures together. He was a great friend.

So sorry for your loss...you're in our thoughts and prayers

So very sorry to hear about the passing of your brother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. With Sincere Sympathy, Dana
