Not sure what to say?

It's hard to believe it's been eleven years since Bishop Hubbard went home to be with GOD, but I think of him often. We were supposed to have lunch shortly before he passed, and I am so sorry we weren't able to meet. He was one of the kindest people I know, and he always encouraged me to keep singing. He will always be in my heart.

I think of Brother Hubbard every time I pass the church on Crawford Road. I think of him and brother James (Jimmy) Johnson singing together. Much love for the family. His image live on in his sons.

I think of Bishop Hubbard every time I see one of your family members. Years ago he heard me sing @ a church and was inspired by my song, so he invited me to his church to sing. That was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Many times I would hear there was an afternoon program & I'd stop by. I sat in the back so I wouldn't disturb anyone. But, Bishop would see me, ask if I had my music in the car (karaoke machine) and tell me to go get it because if I was there, I had to sing. He was...

Bishop Robert Hubbard Sr.

Dear Hubbard Family:
I just found out about your loss but Heaven's gain this past weekend. When I first came to Cleveland, Ohio in about 1966 from Washington, D.C. I had the priviledge of singing with The Hubbard singers. Your Dad was quite the "task-master". He did not have you 'sing' but 'siiing" He believed that it should come from the belly and then the heart. He was a hard singer and required the same of each of us. I attended Williams Temple COGIC where I met Frieda and found out...

I met the Bishop at the funeral of my father Nate Gardner. He was one of the few people that welcomed me into the family. He has been on my mind strong for some time.He was one of the few people that accepted me as I was a cousin.
I attempted to call the number on the card he gave me but did not follow up-
Now I know why he was on my mind for so long and so strong. I send my condolences to the family and deeply regret not following up on the messages I received.

To The Hubbard Family & Rodney, I thank God for the impact your father had on my life as a young man, when he came to preach & Christian Praise Church with Pastor Conrad Brooks and also Faith Bible Church in the DC area.
Always will remember him.
