Not sure what to say?

Condolences to the family. I am doing genealogy research and while going through old files handed down to me, discovered this family line and am trying to fill in the blanks. My paternal grandfather was Carl Stockdale Humphrey who was the brother of Coy Ciril Humphrey, father to Robert. Robert would have been my second cousin. I would love to connect and share photos if you have them of the Humphrey side of the family. I have a few photos of Carl and Coy from the early 1900s.

I was fortunate to play many rounds of golf with Bob. Apart from being an excellent putter and one on whom I relied for tough reads on the greens, I always looked forward to the round to witness Bob's quick and dry wit, sometimes directed at my short game prowess. We shared many laughs together, which were supplemented by frequent discussions during our workouts at the Fitness Center. I found Bob to be a man of quiet reserve and intelligence, who was a delight to be around. I miss him. ...

I was saddened to read about Robert's passing. I had not seen Robert since his family left Minnesota. But just today I was thinking of him for the first time after many years and wondered how his life had been. So I was very surprised to find online that he had just died, and Ross a few years earlier. His parents were my godparents, and Robert and Ross were sort of older and more worldly cousins to me. The Humphreys were a wonderful family, and I was lucky to have known all of them as a child.

Sad to have to say goodbye to Bob. I'll miss his celebration, but will remember celebrating with him on the golf course,at pickle ball and tennis, and at various events at our SLO club. He brought joy to my life as his memory will continue to do. My sincere condolences to Lelia and his family. He is missed.

SLO lost a good man with Robert's passing. He always treated my dad with friendship and respect when my dad was semi-retired and worked at Riley's and Robert was his boss. Their friendship continued through the years. I'm so sorry for your loss Leila, Jim and family.

Great golf partner and a fantastic putter.
An example to his humor, I asked Bob if he wouldn't mind giving me a hint to his putting prowess after a particularly poor showing on the greens on my part. He looked at me with that sly smile and said don't think there's help for you. He then did give some hints.
You will be missed.
Our best wishes and condolences to the whole family.

It is with much sadness that Jim & I learned of Bob's death. We will miss his dry sense of humor and local suggestions. Jim will miss the golf cart rides home from the club with the philosophical discussions of the day. We know that Leila and family will remain strong and live with many great memories.

Bob was such a great guy. He was the best pickle ball partner you could have. He will be missed. All our best to the Humphrey family.

RIP Bob~ Love and hugs to Leila ❤ Allison
