Not sure what to say?

Bob was like a big brother in the late 60’s and early 70’s. We met and both worked at Michigan State Computer Department and we were both in the National Guard where both of us were not the best soldiers lol .. He formed the band called “Rock Bottom” where he christened me the drummer even though I didn’t know how to play but he encouraged me to learn. I did and he later he taught me how to play the guitar as he was so talented as a guitar player and lead vocalist. It was in many ways the...

Bob was a dear friend for the better part of 50 years, he will be sorely missed.

In life, we have formal and informal mentors. We always recognize the formal mentors with rewards, but we forget that the informal mentors pave the way for us to get things done and provide extremely value assistant. Bob was one of those unmentioned superb informal mentors and human beings who shaped our time at the School of Packaging by endless helping my classmates and me to get our work done. He not only provides companionship during the late hour of the night when we were conducting an...

I remember Bob fondly from the School of Packaging. He could always be counted on to come up with an ingenious way to address issues that arose in the labs, using his vast collection of "stuff" to meet unanticipated needs in creative ways!

Bob and I had many long talks while working in The School of Packaging. He was so interesting and creative. At one time he was working on inventing a new cat toy. My cats were going to be the testers. Though I don’t think the toy ever came to be. I will always fondly remember him.

Bob managed our labs at MSU in the School of Packaging, where we always appreciated his resourcefulness, his assistance and his hilarious sense of humor even under the most dire circumstances. Bob knew all of the campus essential workers, at least those who could best help us, and he knew how to enlist their free advice and materials in our behalf. He spent most of his effort on the graduate students, "his kids," working long into the night to teach them about packaging, mechanical...

My condolences to my old class mate Elaine on the passing of her brother Robert. Fondly remember you from Charles Andrews and Nottingham. La Shana Tova. May this be a better year for you.

I (and along with my other fellow Packaging Graduate Students) were so sad from the passing of Bob, who has been a great friend to us. He touches our heart in many different ways both professionally and personally. Many of us develop the skills and character that are owing to being friend with him. He will still be in our heart as long as we live. I have written about him and will capture all that has been said about him through my Facebook post at...
