Robert Iacarella

Obituary

Iacarella Robert Iacarella Minneapolis has lost a special son. Robert Francis Iacarella passed away on Sunday, April 25th, after a long battle with lymphoma. He was 39 years old, just eleven days shy of his 40th birthday. Born and raised Northeast on the Hill, he was the sixth of seven children born to Lou and Lenore Iacarella in 1964. As friends and family gather to celebrate his life, he is remembered for his incredible laugh and his huge heart. The defining moment of Robert's life was the birth of his son Lucas in 1994. A single parent for many years, he was a devoted father, and in 1999, married the love of his life, Cristi. Son Evan is due to be born in May. During the last few weeks, a score of family and friends have sat vigil with Robert as he valiantly fought for his life. If a man's life is measured by the number of people he has touched, and the depth in which he is loved, Robert was among the Twin Cities' wealthiest citizens, as was his father, Lou Iacarella, who preceded him in death in 1984. He shall live on in the hearts of his family and friends, forever. Robert's spirit and warm embrace will be missed most by his son, Lucas and his wife, Cristi; by his mother, Lenore Beno, and stepfather, Don; by his brothers and sisters, Charles Iacarella, Cathy Iacarella, Jim Iacarella, Sue Kimball, Mike Iacarella, Mary Scott, and Jean Strauss; by his nieces and nephews, Maximo Iacarella; Taylor, Collin and Reed Iacarella; Justin, Madesyn and Chase Kimball; Jeremiah, Jennifer, Joseph, Veronica, and Luke Scott; and Kristoffer and Jonathon Strauss; by his father-in-law, Jerry Oakvik and wife T.J.; by brothers-in-law, Kevin Kimball, Kelly Scott, Jon Strauss, David Oakvik, Mike Oakvik, and Jon Oakvik; by sisters-in-law, Vicky Iacarella, Cheryl Iacarella, Cathy Smith, and Kathy Oakvik; by his aunts and uncles, John and Carolyn Iacarella, Frank Iacarella, Joseph and Donna Iacarella, and Bill and Pat Miklosey; by his cousins, Joe, Ann-Marie, Theresa, Philip, Roxanne, Michelle, Rita and Mary Beth Iacarella, and Sheridan and Lauren Miklosey; and by his many friends, including Lori and Marty Stamm, Jeff Olson, Sandy Zupon, Mary Bullock, Carolyn and Scott Streeter, Leslie Burchett, Steve and Darcy Olson, Ted and Cheri Ashton, Lisa Elliott, Nello and Tommi Rampi, and Shelly Wedel. The family would like to thank all the people at Parker Hughes, in particular Dr. Lundell, and the entire staff at the Fairview University BMT and ICU units, especially Russ Henderson. The family is also grateful to the staff at St. Michael's School and at Harriett Bishop Elementary, particularly Lucas's teacher, Kate Zweber. Visitation at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 701 NE Fillmore St., Minneapolis, Thursday, April 29, 9:30- 10 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 AM. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, with a luncheon afterwards at St. Clement's Catholic Church. Memorials to Robert Iacarella Family Fund preferred in lieu of flowers. Not sure what to say?

To the family of Bobby,

I had the honor of meeting Bobby's sons and wife Cristi at our church this past Sunday and heard about Bobby's life and held the miracle Baby Evan. He is so missed and I am so sorry he is not here, I am praying for all those who knew Bobby. Praying for the Peace that passes understanding.

A poem I found that I beleive reflects Robert and what he wants us to know. My family and I miss him very much. Love to all the Iacarella family and friends.

If You Could See Me Now
(Kim Noblitt)

Our prayers have all been answered. I finally arrived.
The healing that had been delayed has now been realized.
No one's in a hurry. There's no schedule to keep.
We're all enjoying Jesus, just sitting at His feet.

If you could...

On Thursday, May 6, the Iacarella Family - et.al - met for dinner in honor of what would have been Bobby's 40th birthday. How we all so dearly miss him, every minute of every hour! We have all been surrounded by a sea of love from all our friends and relatives during this sad and poignant time. While we know that Bobby is with our Lord, and all our heavenly family--our earthly family is still reeling from his loss! In a very huge way, my beloved son has taught us all that the only thing truly...

Cristi & Lucus, the following poem was sent to me from a friend, and I would like to share it with you, along with recognizing the day of Bobby's birth.

And if I go
While you're still here...
Know that I live on
vibrating to a different measure
Behind a veil you cannot see through.

You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I will wait for the time when we can
soar together again
both aware of each...

Thankyou to all the business associates from Washington to Maryland in WWG the Delmororo's, Adaamich's and Foundation and Burnsville network who prayed so hard for Bobby. He is in a place we all want to reach. Keep praying for Bobby family who all carry his goodness on. You have just seen the start of Bobby's legacy.

To all of the Family,
I love you all so dearly. You are truly a part of my life I could not live without. Bobby was a wonderful man, an awesome uncle, and a great friend. God only takes the best, and at such a young age, Bobby was surely beyond that. I will miss the great times in the summer and the random visits. Again, I love you all! Bobby, you will never be forgotten!

Bob was one of those guys who always brought a smile to your face, and you were always happy to see him. He was one of the most compassionate men I have ever met, and he taught me how to always look at the better things in life instead of focusing on the bad. We were all blessed to know such a great man. But instead of saying good-bye to him we should say see you later because he is still here with us in spirit. Thanks to those who stuck by us during this sad time and please keep our family...

We would like to thank everyone who has stood by our families during this devastating time. Bobby was the light of kindness and compassion in our family. We all have learned so much from him. As we continue to make sense of this tragedy we would ask that you continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, especially Cristi and Lucas. Please pray that the ache in our hearts will eventually lessen. Thanks again to everyone for the love you have shown us.

Iacarellas -
You gave Bobby the nicest tribute! The singing was beatiful. I'm so proud to be related to you.
