I adored Bob! I worked for the Charlotte Symphony doing marketing and booking out of town concerts in the early 1980s. He was so helpful to me as I was learning the logistics of touring, etc. Subsequently, I enjoyed seeing him fairly regularly at my large church where he often played. Running into him was always a great excuse for a kind joke, etc. May your memories provide comfort moving forward. Prayers for all of Bob´s family and comrades.

If my husband Chuck Kibler were still alive, he would me even more devastated than I am. Chuck, a volunteer player, studied with Bob for a number of years, improved as a cornetist, and couldn't wait for another lesson. Of course, there was a shared sense of humor that enhanced their friendship. My knowledge of that was, as an Oratorio singer, sitting behind him at our concert rehearsals! He will be missed!
