Robert Harry "Bob" Johnson

Met Bob in the early days of the C-17 program, and saw him quarterly as I did my sim training for the next 20 years. Always fun to talk to, as a young aviator he was full of mentorship and and quality advice. I´m sorry to hear of his loss.

I was lucky enough to have bowled with Robert the last few years. Always such a pleasure to see him. He was always in a great mood even though you could tell at times he wasn't feeling his best. He was a great bowler and an even better friend and person. I will miss you Robert. The team will always remember you and we are all better off for having the pleasure of knowing you. See you in heaven one day my friend.

Bob was one of my favorite instructors at Charleston. Always a joy to sim with and always in a great mood. He truly will be remembered by me and so many others. Going to miss the motorcycle and 141 stories. One thing´s for sure, we are all better aviators because of him.

Bob took me on my first TDY as a maintenance officer at Charleston AFB in 1977 to Pope AFB. He taught me the ropes of being deployed and what it took to operate in a foreign environment. His initial training of a young second lieutenant served me well over the rest of my Air Force career. "Pulling chocks and pins on Alpha-3 for his final flight."
