Robert Ell Jones

Kingsport -- Bob Jones, 84, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning (Jan. 28,2003).

Bob was a friend to many and a devoted husband, father and Pap.

He was born in Scott County, VA, the son of the late Bev and Nancy Hale Jones. He was retired from Holston Defense.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Florence Smith, Fannie Carter, Ed Jones, Leonard Jones, Lester Jones, Lloyd Jones, William Jones and Banner Jones.

He is survived by his precious wife and sweetheart of 62 years, Minnie L. (Smith) Jones. Also surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Gary Addington, Bristol, TN; and Debby and Jim Carter, Chapin, SC. Grandchildren, Greg Addington and wife Becky, Brian Addington and wife Donna, Danielle Proctor and husband Marc and Justin Carter. Great-grandchildren, Collin and Caleb Addington, Hunter and Logan Proctor, Ian Addington and Tommy Rigney.

Calling hours will be from 6-8p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2003 at Morrison City Mission, where he was a dedicated member, 2035 Gregory Rd., Kingsport, with Pastor Kenneth Hill and Rev. Keith Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Friends of Morrison City Mission will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be A. D. Delwadia, M.D., and nurse Cindy and D. L. Gash, M.D., FACC
