Not sure what to say?

What a shock it was to hear of Bob's death when I called him for one of our "school break life updates". I had the privilage of calling Bob a friend for the past six years. He and I worked together at West Aurora High School. He was a caring and funny teacher who enjoyed teaching. I always appreciated the wisdom and encouragement he gave me during the challenging times that have occurred in my life. He talked fondly of his family and the Lions Club. He was such an inspiration to me for...

He was a very special man, we will all miss his kind words, gentle spirit and the love he had for everyone around him.

Senor Beto will be very much missed. I just found out today from a friend, and a classmate that shared Senor's classroom. He formed such a positive impact on me as a freshman in high school as the third teacher I met. He was more than a teacher, but a great friend. God Bless Senor!

I am so sad to hear that Bob has gone; sad for those of us who are left without his inspiration and encouragement. Bob challenged anyone who knew him to redefine their definition of "disability." He lived the reality of what it means to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peggy and the family as well as to all those who will miss Bob's infectious spirit.

I have talked to Bob only a few times, when my son was working on his Eagle project. You rarely come in contact with someone with as much enthusiasm and instant inspiration as Bob. The encouragement and support he gave my son during that time has left both of us with a lasting impression of a man who seized every opportunity to be a catalyst for service and charitable works. He will be missed.

Bob redefined the saying “is your cup half empty or half full”. For Bob it overflowed. What an inspiration Bob was and will always be. He gave so much of himself to others. His selfless and caring presence will be missed by so many. Peggy may you be comforted by the knowledge that he delights in his new heavenly body.

Señor Beto ~ you will be remembered always as the most powerful force on two prosthetic feet...the most compassionate and caring friend...the most gifted and humorous Spanish teacher...the most giving and selfless human being...the most adoring husband...the most enthousiastic learner...the most tireless worker. Bob, you taught me what it means to be effected by all that life is around us and to respond to the needy forgetting that you were often needy yourself. Thank you for all the effort...

Señor Beto lives . . . forever.
Beto, I love you, I respect you, and I admire you. I am sad and I am happy for you. Nothing can stop you from doing what you loved to do now. You are free; you are with my family and me. Thank you for every breath of life you blessed us with every time we met for Spanish class. You are a truly generous person who shares his best because you love from the heart and from your brilliant mind full of wonder and joy for learning. You will live in our hearts and...

My deepest condolences. He was a great man, so caring and compassionate, and always upbeat. He was a great Spanish teacher, and will always be Senor Beto to me!
