Honaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Slidell Obituary

Robert J. “Bobby” Juge, Jr., 68, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on August 6, 2025.

Bobby devoted his life to service, retiring as a Detective Captain with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office after nearly 25 years of dedicated service. His career in law enforcement and public safety also included time as a Volunteer Fire Chief and as a Deputy with the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office. With a love of the outdoors, Bobby was an avid fisherman, a PADI Divemaster, and a Captain of the Sheriff’s Dive Team. He and Terri also spent years owning and operating a delicious local seafood restaurant.

Following his retirement from the Sheriff’s Office in 2016, Bobby continued working in a role he loved alongside his friend Mike Moore at Mike’s Hardware. He was deeply involved in his community and local traditions, serving as Past President, Board Member, and King of the Mardi Gras Krewes of Dionysus and Bilge.  Bobby was also a graduate of Leadership Northshore, and dedicated many hours volunteering for the betterment of his community in Slidell.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Betty; and his brother, Donnie.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Terri; his son Robert, III with wife Jessica and children Alex and Tony; his son Chris with wife Faith and children Braden, Shayla, Christian, Ava, and Camden; Terri’s parents, Curtis and Frances Crawford; his sisters through Terri, Ruby Swords and Tina Crawford;  and many friends, colleagues, and extended family members, who will deeply miss his humor, dedication, and generous spirit, along with his famed love of a particular spirit, Jack Daniels.  And of course, his love of Corvettes.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, with visitation from 10:00am until 1:00pm.

The family asks that you make donations in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
