Not sure what to say?

Rob and I arrived at fort Polk together and we became instant compadres. In our merry band there were five of us. Our common denominator was we were all family men separated due to the the deployment upcoming. We did everything together like young boys do in there younger years. One night we stayed up all night telling ghost stories drinking beer and eating Oreos. As dawn came we reminisced about our families and our regret for leaving them behind. In the end we agreed it would have been...

My dear Kassin family-
I cannot to begin to feel your grief of the loss of Sgt. Robert P. Kassin (brother, son, uncle)...but I have in fact felt the pride and love that your family continues to carry in this young man's name. He gave the ultimate sacrifice of a soldier and passed with honor. I love you all very much and on this day, I salute Robert Kassin.

Today I thought about my brother a lot. This is the fist time I have not cried every time someone brought up his name however I still cry a lot thinking about him not coming home. I will never hear him call me baby betherie again, or be able to let my baby girl meet the man that she reminds me a lot of. I have these dreams of him coming in and our family just sitting down to dinner and him telling us it was all a mistake and that he is still alive. I know in my heart that wont happen however...

To the Kassin Family: I had the great fortune to get to know Robert before his death in Larzab. On our country's day of remembrance, my thoughts and prayers got to him and his family who were left behind. It is with an extreme sense of pride that I say I served along side, and knew SGT Robert Kassin; he will not be forgotten. Thank you and god bless.
