Not sure what to say?

I suspect that Bob was too modest to be aware of how much people appreciated him, both for himself and for his work, and I hope that, somehow, he understands this now. A year after his passing, it's still hard to believe that he's not here, doing what he did so well and what he enjoyed doing.

We who have been touched by Bob's kind words and impartial reporting in the past still miss his presence, photos, and spirit at community events. More than once I have heard other people say, "I wish Bob were here reporting on this." May family memories keep him near in your hearts and sharing.

Bob was the best friend anyone could hope to have. He was extremely generous with his time, patient, unjudging, kind and understanding; he was also incredibly thoughtful, and always humorous, as expressed in his recent mock-outrage over expensive food truck hotdogs. Oh, how he wanted one, but he held strong: "Seven bucks a dog," he wrote, "Not gonna pay that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't pay that." I've known Bob almost all my life, and I had hoped to have many more years enjoying his company, but...

Many Condolences to family and those who knew Bob well! Bob was a great friend and I am blessed to have worked, as a freelance photographer alongside of him for many years. Bob touched so many people through his incredible reporting and stories for community events. In loving memory for a wonderful person. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Our paths crossed many times over the years due to his work in the newspapers and my community involvement. Bob was such a familiar face with his notebook and phone/camera in hand at local events. He was greatly appreciated by many people for his presence, even fair reporting, interest in what was happening in our organizations and communities, and his unobtrusive presence. You will be missed more than you may have known.

A selfie of Bob

Bob was a great friend of the Indian Valley Public Library and the greater Indian Valley Community. His love of his community was expressed by his authentic reporting and attendance at many community events. His impact on the community was appreciated, will last forever and will be sorely missed.

Bob was my former brother-in-law and a good friend. I hadn't heard from him for a few days and was shocked to discover that he had passed away. If someone from his family could contact me by email, I would greatly appreciate it. I am so deeply sorry for your family's loss. He was such a special person, and I can't imagine the world without him.
