Bob was truly one of a kind. I have never known a more positive, generous human being. He was involved in so many charitable efforts-the Jesuit Food Drive, Camps for Kids and the Catholic Schools Foundation of Oregon which he helped organize and which he promoted constantly. I was just sharing my precious memory of Bobby when we were challenged by our son's 'growing pains' during his transition from child to adulthood, with his devoted sister, Margaret. In our desperate attempt to 'reel it in', I was lucky enough to run into Bobby. Of course I took the opportunity to grab as much advise as I could and asked him what he would do. In his to the point and compassionate way, he answered, "NOISE AND MOTION". I said, what Bob? And he repeated, "that's what a boy needs...

God works in mysterious ways but there´s no question that Bobby was prepared for this day. I met Bobby while working at Pacific Coast Fruit in 1977 and remained friends ever since. He always impressed me with his desire and willingness to get people to work together to help those less fortunate. I was able to procure many many tons of oranges for 30 years to help fill his food boxes for Jesuit high and St Vincent DePaul. I pray that someone will step in for Bobby and keep the tradition going

I first met Bob 50 years ago when I was working during the summers at Figini Fruit Market on 5th and Yamhill and he at the fish market. Fast forward 15 years and I remember getting calls on a Saturday morning to go up skiing. We had many lunches together and one in particular stands out.
