Those of us Lieutenants who served with LTC. Kelso in the 6th ACR affectionately referred to him as "Bullet Bob". I was alerted to go to Viet Nam in January 1969 but because I was on the Squadron's undefeated basketball team, Bob called Armor branch and told them he had me on a special mission and got my deployment delayed until April. He never told branch what the special mission was. His calling card was a pop on the head with his giant ring that he had turned around. I think I still...

There are so many wonderful memories we have of Colonel Bob throughout the years. Mostly, he was a wonderful conversationalists and could talk about anything. Colonel Bob had a very warm and kind way of making people feel welcome. He will be missed by many here on earth but will be celebrated in heaven (like he just came home from war ).
