Bob was a unique individual and the world will be a lesser place without him. I will always remember our Alaskan adventures.

Robert E. Kenly, 87 of 39 Greenleaf Lane, Reeds Spring, MO passed away quietly in his home Saturday, October 29th at 7:50 am. His daughters, Roberta (Kenly) Woodward and Elizabeth Kenly, grandson, Camden Woodward, and daughter-in-law Emily Alexander, were at his home at the time of death. He is survived by his brother Donald Kenly, Sr. and sister Peggy DeRoberts, daughters Roberta Woodward, Elizabeth Kenly, and Helen (Kenly) Walsh. Grandchildren Caitlin, Cody, Camden, Conlan, Alex, Sean, and James. He has six Great Grandchildren.
Bob was an unrestrained, unapologetic Yankee whose claim to fame was attending the same high school as Tony Soprano. He was a vernacular connoisseur and his creative use of profanity with graphic imagery remains unmatched worldwide. He likely holds the world record for “most F-bombs thrown in one complete sentence,” although utmost care was made to guarantee proper grammar and punctuation.
A lover of good food and red wine, Bob’s greatest pleasure in life was preparing delicious food from around the world for family and friends. This was his love language. A meal with Bob was a complex, sophisticated production. It would begin with planning, days ahead of time. Shopping generally occurred on the day of the meal to insure the freshest ingredients. Food prep started early (10 am), which included detailed, step-by-step instructions for those who served as sous chef. Cultural education regarding the origins and applications of said food was delivered throughout the process. All stages of prep included red wine, insuring that all participants were relaxed and happy by the time of serving. The final stage of enjoying the meal would take place around noon, followed by an extended food and wine-induced nap.
Join us for Military Funeral Honors and a celebration of Bob’s life on Thursday, November 3rd from 3:00-5:00pm at the Kimberling City Elk’s Lodge, 37 Beach Blvd. Please come prepared to share your favorite “Bob” story or toast.
