My deepest sympathies Rosemary. I just learned today (1-20-09) of Bob passing away in Decmeber. From my own experience, I truly am sorry.

Bob Kilker passed into eternal peace Wednesday, 17 December 2008 at the age of 86. He was born on 29 March 1922 in Kansas City to Robert L. and Bertha W. Kilker. After graduation from Rockhurst High School, Bob attended Regis College where he was enrolled into the Army A.S.T.P. program. He then actively served in the European Theatre of Operations during World War ll with the Headquarters Company of the 103rd Artillery Division. After the war Bob graduated from KU with a degree in engineering and worked 33 years for Powers Regulator Co. He was a life member of ASHRAE, past president of the Kansas City chapter and served on ASHRAE's national board. Bob was an active member of many local organizations throughout his life. These organizations included The Engineering Club of Kansas City, an original member of the Vanguard Club, Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, Natives Son's, American Legion, Nelson-Atkins Museum and the Westport Historical Society. In addition, Bob, in his salad days, was a member of the Kansas City Ski Club and organized the club's Ski Train excursions to Colorado. He was past president and board member of Ozman, organized their fund raising Omaha Race Trains and also organized the Adventurers Travel Club and their trips for the Community of the Good Shepherd. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #527. Bob leaves behind his wife and the love of his life for 40 years, Rosemary Cannon Kilker. He is also survived by a brother, John G. Kilker of Chicago; sister, Rosemarie Kilker Hickey of Kansas City; a niece, many nephews, grand nephews and close friends. The family wishes to extend its profound gratitude and thanks to Drs. James Stoddard, T. Bryan Bownik, and the nursing staff at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21st at the Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO, where the rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 Monday at Redemptorist Church, 3333 Broadway Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Redemptorist Church or Redemptorist Social Services. Rosemary, I only met Bob in person once a couple of years ago, we usually chatted on the phone. He was an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to talk with. He was always bragging about you.Please accept my sympathy for your loss.

Nick and I thought Bob was such a cool person. I always loved seeing him, in the summer months, wearing a nice shirt; usually white, and a bow tie. He never, never looked anything but a gentleman. He will be missed. And Rosemary, I am so glad you two found each other. You two complemented each other.
