DEAR KNIGHT FAMILY,
PLEASE EXCEPT OUR CONDOLENCES FROM THE VMI INFIRMARY FOR THE RECENT LOSS OF YOUR SON ROBERT. HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF A VMI CADET AND DISPLAYED ALL THE VALOR AND STRENGTH THE TITLE CARRIES. HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED.

SINCERELY, JERI PHELPS, RN VMI INFIRMARY

To Those Touched By Robert's Life,

I remember Robert in the halls of Smithfield High and in my father's class room as one of the leading cadets of JROTC. He was well mannered and always had something good to share. May the Lord comfort you in the days ahead. You all are in my prayers.

We have not been able to get you out of our thoughts since we heard the news from our son, Clarke, VMI Class of 2011. Our hearts are breaking for you and we wanted you to know. God is surrounding you in love as witnessed on these pages.

To Robert's Family & Friends:
I was saddened to learn of Robert's passing. My husband, Don Carter, was his JROTC instructor at Smithfield High School. I recall that Don spoke with high regard in reference to Robert and noted that he had a bright future with much potential at VMI. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
