So many memories....I was very privileged to work alongside Dr. Koenig at P.M.H. ...first as a nurse aide then R.N. on Peds. Later, he spoke on my behalf as I became a school nurse & health services coordinator with Valpo Community Schools. He and Dr. Poncher played supportive roles as we formulated ground-breaking Emergency Protocols for schools in Porter County. sorry to hear of the passing of a truly great Dr. and caring man. He was my Birth doctor on 1/14/1959. In the 1980's he delivered my three sons. GOD Bless his soul.

Dr. Koenig was our first family physician when we came to Valpo, in 1966. He was such a kind and compassionate man. I shall always remember his handshake, firm, but oh so soft. May he rest in peace. condolences to his family.

Jamie, I'm still at a loss of words about your father's death. I and my late husband, John, thought the world of him. He made every person he met feel special.
