The Visitation will be on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 from 5-8pm.

Robert was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. Robert received his B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University in 1964, and graduated from Rutgers Law School in 1967. Robert was drafted in the United States Army. He received the rank of Captain and served during the Vietnam War at Can Tho with the 164th Combat Aviation Group from 1969-1970. Upon returning from Vietnam, Robert joined the Union County Prosecutors Office where he was in command of the grand jury and served as a trial lawyer. From there he worked with several law firms in Union County and then went into private practice for the remainder of his career. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 3, Westfield and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter#688, Westfield. Robert was a proud Bay Head, NJ Lifeguard and a lifelong Yankee fan.

Deprived of his own father at a young age, he nevertheless became a great father himself. He was a loving son, devoted father, and husband, and derived great joy and satisfaction from coaching his sons in Little League and watching them grow up. Robert was full of wisdom, laughter, life, and served as a great example to many. He will be missed by all those who knew him.

Robert is predeceased by his parents Raymond Victor and Helen Barbara; and his oldest brother Raymond. He is survived by wife Randi Kjeldsen Kopnicki; his two sons Keith and Brian; and his brother Ronald.

Contributions can be made in Robert's name to the American Legion Post 3 and/or Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #688.
