Not sure what to say?

I was putting together my library in my new home and came across Roberts part one course when he worked at Eastern Michigan University. It´s from winter 2004. He lent it to me a few years ago when we met briefly at Sedona Winds Independent living retirement community I just googled him, hoping to find his phone number so I could return his book only to discover his obituary. I will cherish this direction that he´s so lovingly gave me when I shared with him that I´m a writer with the ambition...

I am just learning now that Bob passed a couple years ago. We first met when I was a student in his class traveling from Michigan to Colorado. "In search of self" was the name of the class. We read Robert Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I was just thinking about that book, and Bob and his whole family came into my mind. I had the great blessing of living with this lovely family through grad school at EMU. Sending so much love to each of you. Uma and my pup Huck...

Bob was a wonderful and inspiring influence to anyone who had the honor of taking his creative writing class at Eastern Michigan University back in the 70´s. Larry Lobert

Bob was one of my favorite instructors at EMU. A true gem. He will no doubt be missed by all who came in contact with him. Godspeed, Bob, and thank you for all you did for me, and all who shared his history.

Roni, Joe, and Rob, I´m very sorry for your loss. I´ll always remember Bob´s advice and the college graduation party he had for me. Fond memories of him and you all.

Bob's presence was huge. As a student, friend, and member of FCIE, Bob was forever the 'Teacher' who guided me through life's lessons. Fly gently dear friend.

Bob was one of my favorite instructors at EMU. His guidance was key to my success at EMU, and I'll remember his kindness and compassion. God speed, Bob, and thank you for all the help you gave me.

Bob and Roni have been amazing friends for over fifty years. We will miss our many conversations as Bob would explain his most recent thoughts and readings. What a joy for us to spend time with such a thoughtful and brilliant couple. Bob will be missed! Love from the Timmons'--Mike & Patti

Bob was one of my favorite instructors--patient, instructive and will to spend extra time with his students. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. Sorry to hear about his passing.
