Robert Alan Kreisberg

I truly loved this man, he was so gentle and kind, my Dr. for long time, he was wonderful man!

I received an email this morning with the subject: Remembering Robert Kreisberg. It's ironic that not more than a few days ago Dr. Kreisberg crossed my mind as he often does and the memories are still always pleasant. May Dr. Kreisberg continue to rest in peace.

Dr. Kreisberg was a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at UAB during the time I was employed there. He was always so pleasant and kind. I left UAB in the early 90's and came back to UAB in 2002. Upon coming back I searched names of some people (through UAB directory and Google) that worked in the Department and Dr. Kreisberg was one of them. By that time, he was at University of South Alabama and thinking that he would not remember me, I sent him an email and he responded in short...

He was a great man but he was my Thyroid Dr. He found cancer in time and I miss seeing him as my Dr. Bless his heart, hr was always a joy to talk to, very intelligent man with a kind heart.

I never had a teacher that wrote his patient notes in calligraphy. His patients notes were identifiable yards away. There was was as much elegance in the thought as there was in the actual writing. He will be sadly missed by every student that was fortunate to have had him.

It was my pleasure and honor to work with Bob. The stories and laughs we shared brightened our days and I feel like it gave him the drive to continue fighting all the way till the end. We will miss you, Sir, and I will cherish our time together for all my days. Rest in peace my friend.

You were the guy who would leave the keys under the mat for us at the beach house and make sure we had everything we needed.

You were the guy who returned a call at any hour when Lauren or I had concerns or questions with one of the kid's cough, skin rash or sore-throat; an incredable comfort to a new mom and dad.

Bob Kreisberg, as the Director of the Clinical Research Unit of UAB, generously and tirelessly showed me how to successfully prepare USPHS applications for research grants and for a USPHS Career Development Award.
In 1981 he recommended my appointment as an
