Bob was a gentleman's gentleman. Never an unkind word. He always encouraged my writing of Oregon's history. He will be missed by those who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him and his family.

Your Father was a very special and kind man...he will be truly missed. I wish there were words that I could express to ease your sorrow, but when you lose your parents that is a void that is forever in your heart. My deepest sympathy to all of the family.

The passing of a Great Man. A Pillar of Portland's Historical Past. It was my fortunate pleasure to have known Bob La Du. We shared lots of interests and spent time on the water, fishing. He's now with our forefathers that shaped the morals of our United States of America. He's written books of our Nation's Historical Past. Something that cannot and will not ever be erased or forgotten.
Rest In Peace, Bob La Du

My deepest symphony to all of the La Du family. Never easy to loose a loved one, but please know there are many behind you that care and are there for you with support and love..... Always appreciated how Uncle Bob told stories and the in depth knowledge he had with the topics he elaborated on. I know he was a lifetime learner and adventurer and always came across as a very knowledgeable kindhearted and considerate soul. Going to miss him.
