Not sure what to say?

Mary and I were saddened to learn of our dear friend "The Senator"s passing. We had looked forward to being with he and Mary Anne at the upcoming Shriners Convention. He was a man of great spirit and warmth. We will miss him dearly.

The state of SC has lost one of its greatest champions, Robert, Sam, what an awesome man your Dad was! I hadn't seen him in a while but I always will remember him as a kind and down to earth person who was very concerned for the well-being of others. I feel that this is a wonderful legacy he has left with you! May your family have God's peace in knowing that your Dad lived a blessed life and will be missed by many!

Sheryl Griffin-Nelson, Charlotte, NC

I have fond memories of Senator Lake when I worked for the South Carolina Education Association. He was a champion of public education.

I am sure he is at peace. May God bless his soul.

He was a true leader for the people of S.C. and a major player for education reform for our state.I would often talk about him with his brother,Dr. John Lake in Ware Shoals.RIP!
