Robert Michael LaMantia

I truly cannot believe your gone.. I will never forget the bond we found way back in the mid 70's. I felt like a family member. There are so many fond memories of the trips we took, Colorado, Arizona, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Seattle, Florida, Michigan, even Nova Scotia. The times in your parents driveway, twisting wrenches on the cars... on and on.
My deepest condolences to your family (which felt like my family) your daughters, and grand kids.
My biggest regret was...

I met Bob on 8th Floor Hall Olson at Western Illinois University in fall, 1978. We were Law Enforcement Administration majors. Bob's intelligence and quick wit added much joy to our frequent meals together. Bob was also an important resource in helping me not take myself too seriously when I started to date Robin, who became my wife. It was a joy to have Bob as one of my groomsmen! Robin and I, along with our three girls enjoyed many more meals and a couple of 5K's with Bob and his family...

I was around when Bob was born. He is just days younger than my sister. We spent almost every weekend together while our parents played cards. There were five sisters who were so close. They talked almost everyday. We shared every birthday, holiday and celebrated every milestone.
Bob was a great cousin, fabulous family man and made us all proud.

I am sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was such a nice man. I always enjoyed seeing him. I spent time with him when I was on the Village Board. He was a great face of our police department. He had a wonderful smile. That is how I will remember him. My thoughts and prayers to Bob's family.

I have known Bob since 1978 when we lived on the same floor at WIU and had classes together. We were then at the police academy, PTI at U of I, Champaign together with different police departments. Bob was in our wedding. I count him as one of the very best people I have ever known. He was incredibly intelligent, had a great sense of humor and was a dedicated law enforcement professional. Bob's greatest love was his family and he lived for their care and well being. I pray that God will bless...

This is the daughter of Fred W. Stoecker. I was very moved that you lost your dear Robert this week. He was very important to my father. Ironically, we also lost Clemie Stoecker this week as well; The passing of two articlulate, spirited and compassionate people. I still possess and read Robert's kind eulogy for my father. He was kind and supportive to me and our family during our loss some years ago. Please know I am thinking of you at this time. Love Susan...
