Robert Edmond Lambert

We were high school classmates of Bert's. He was a wonderful person, always positive, always cheerful, a good student and a first string athlete in three sports. In his middle years he became fascinated with Russia, learned their language, and once traveled across Russia by bicycle and train to, he said, ``meet the people".

It was an honor to know this kind and gentle man during this past year. I will miss seeing him each week at the Edmonds Senior Center and sharing stories of our military experience many years ago in a remote region of Turkey.
