Reed & Benoit Funeral Home Inc. - Watertown Obituary

Robert G. Lamoreaux, Jr., 78, of Rodman, left the company of his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, to join his parents and grandparents in heaven on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Bob was born in Watertown to Robert Lamoreaux, Sr. and Ida Ballentine Lamoreaux. He attended and graduated from Watertown High School.

He was a jack-of-all-trades. Bob retired from the New York Department of Corrections, drove tractor trailer hauling steel, operated heavy equipment, and ran his own hobby farm. His pastimes were as varied as his employment. In his leisure time, he could be found tinkering with, looking at, or cruising in classic cars. He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, and traveling with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Michigan and Tennessee were his favorite vacation spots. One of Bob’s best talents however, was his story telling, which entertained children, friends, and family alike. He loved nothing more than being able to enjoy a beer and tell a story of hunting, employment havoc and pandemonium, and family adventures. Friends and family remember his smiles and sense of humor.

He leaves behind his wife, Cindy; three children, Robert “Rob” and his wife, Vicky, Julie Seery and her husband, Gary, and Erica Lamoreaux and her partner, Will Ramirez. He also has five grandchildren, Alex and William Seery, and Makenzie, Reagan, and Gaige Lamoreaux, and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Asher Seery.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 20, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home on State Street in Watertown. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

Arrangements are with Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Inc. and condolences may be left online at www.reedbenoit.com.

Not sure what to say?

Condolences to the family. Bobby lived in our neighborhood and we spent time together as kids. We always found some way to get into trouble almost every time. Bobby was the first to get a car. A white 1957 Ford Galaxy Convertible. He was quite the envy of all in that thing for sure. I know he’d say “ I should never have sold that car “! RIP Bobby.

My condolences to you all. Bob was one of my favorite people. I enjoyed our chats both online and in person. He will be missed...Well done, Bob. Time to rest...

Always enjoyed our friendship and working together at Watertown Correctional Facility. Cindy & Erica, May you find comfort to give you strength, peace to fill your heart and hope to give promise of a brighter tomorrow. Rest in peace Bob.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Always enjoyed working with Bob. He made working in a prison fun. Could Always make you laugh.

I have always considered Bob as a long time Friend. He was always one of the Best to work with... With the Greatest Respect... Mike Booth Watertown
