I'm just now learning of the passing of Dr. Larkins, I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of getting to know Dr. Larkins over the past almost 10 years. I got to work with him to put plans into place for a scholarship honoring his wife Bobbi Ann's attendance at the University of Houston, as well as his annual gifts of support for Houston Public Media. We had fun looking through his binoculars to find HPM's new radio and TV tower from the windows of his upper level condo and...

Bob was a great friend and mentor to me when we worked together at Exxon Coal and Minerals in Houston. He was unfailingly generous with his time and advice and was always a great listener. I am grateful to have known him and deeply sorry for his loss.

A wonderful and brilliant man, and a friend to both of us -- Rhonda and Donald Sweeney, at work and in Hawaii. Hopefully he and Donald have found each other again to talk about computers, networks and email! As we say in Hawaiian, A Hui Hou -- Until We Meet Again!
