Dr. Robert Laubach, in the tradition of his father, was warm and kind. When Imani House won the Ann C. Mitchel International Women in Literacy Award, he embraced me, congratulated me on behalf of our Liberian Skill book in the Bassa Language. My introduction to father, Frank, was as I was on my way to West Africa as a missionary printer. He was just mentioned by a woman on the sending agency. In Accra, we printed some of his books in native languages. After 2 years, I returned and worked voluntarily with Frank at retreats at Chautauqua, N.Y. and at Camps Farthest Out, and Koinonia Fdtn.
