I was saddened to learn of Rob Lesman''s death. I had taken some Spanish courses after I retired, having had a minor in Spanish at Dickinson College, having been a student pf Enrique Martinez-Vidal, graduating in 1968. Mst of the undergraduate courses I had taken at Shippensburg University were in French. My condolences to Julie, his children, family, and close friends. I had contemporaneously taken French courses at Dicknson College. I appreciated the fact that Rob respected my desire...

Dr. Lesman was a great face to see around Rowland Hall and I was very saddened to hear of his passing. I was a student in the French program and he came to many French club events to support us, even going as far as to participate in the dance lessons at Mardi Gras where we were paired up. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I would like to offer my belated condolences to Dr. Lesman's family and friends. He was a great mentor to me when pursuing my Spanish studies and encouraging me to continue them even after I had completed my B.A. in Spanish. In the Spring before going to Middlebury College for an intensive French M.A. program, I visited Dr. Lesman to ask him to sign my copy of his book on Translating Cuba; he not only signed it, but also inscribed a message in it yet again encouraging me to continue with...

Great mentor, great professor , great teacher, great man. trully he made a difference in his students lives . Sadness for a good man lost but his great spirit lives with all the people that knew him
