Not sure what to say?

I am so disappointed I didnt get to see Bob recently. He played at our wedding in 1974. We still thought about him between then and now but lost contact. I thought about him only two weeks ago and wanted to find him. Today I picked up a two week old paper and found his obituary. He has a promotion and we have a big loss. I am sorry we missed his celebration of life.

Bob's passion for music was inspiring. I know this passion continues as he is surrounded now by a different set of Gold Wings.

I wrote earlier and forgot to put my name down. Bob was a dear friend, sang at my wedding and was a great musician. I have so many wonderful memories of him. I will miss him. Sandra Hennings Miller, Byron, MN.

I was a piano student of Bob's for nearly a decade at Drake. He introduced me to music I hadn't played before and kept me challenged musically inviting me into the piano club. He always had a smile and light about him in everything he did. You never knew what he'd be wearing when you walked into his room at Drake. Leather jacket, cowboy boots & belt buckle, or his Norwegian sweater, I'll miss his talent that he shared with the world but most of all his smile. I'm sure that God is...

Bob Lien was a huge influence in my life and he's part of why I perform today. When I was a kid dragged (with all my brothers and sister) to piano lessons, I told Bob I wanted to be a singer and didn't need piano lessons. He said there are no singers or instrumentalists as far as he was concerned, just good musicians and bad. His passion and wit lit a fire in me that burns today. Thank you for everything Bob.

A Great Man that will be Greatly Missed.

Bob, our dear friend and member of the Breakfast Club, will be missed greatly by all of us. Bob was a wonderful person whose friendliness, openess and joy reached each of us.He generously shared his talent playing the piano and his love for Norwegian culture and food, of which he was proud. He will always be in our prayers and in our memories. We will treasure his recordings and feel him close to us through his music.

Bob, you will be so missed. You were the first friend that I made at Drake. You opened my eyes to classical music. Your never-ending positive attitude was always an inspiration. We all need to be more like you. See you again.
